Every gesture, and project is political, the question is if you are aware or not about the political implications. Looking down from a certain altitude there are two big possibilities: to entertain the state of things - the business as usual attitude or to be critical, to expose, attack or change the status quo.
To do good work often means to succeed in the unquestioned accepted, normal frame of doing and participating in art. Sedative artists are working for maintaining the status quo by releasing the accumulated tensions and by quieting down the revolutionary drives, providing entertainment or identification based release and chatarsis. Sedative artists are integrated in the capitalist environment and usually they have a job mentality. They cannot understand the people that are on to something because the sedative art values are the comfort and security/stability. So from this place the others are perceived as ambitious, wanting to prove something, wanting power, money or to push their artistic image. All this because this is the sedative artistic universe and from their point of view is impossible to recognize something beyond that. Is impossible to understand that a person has a passion, an intrinsic motivation to do things, to understand, to provoke, to change. Is inconceivable that someone has a genuine interest in performativity research, cultural activism, awareness, ethics or politics. In their vision there is nothing to desire more than to do a "good" performance, to be appreciated, to succeed and to make a living from it in order to sustain a flat boring life, in which the only highlights are shopping, the drinks with the friends or some parties. The radical artist is perceived as a threat because he make obvious their commonplace attitudes and values, their prolonged mope, their insipid and low-ambitions life, full of "normal" compromises. The sedative artists don't like this, so they associate and try to put him down, to make him small, bitter and frustrated like them, to be all equally weak.
Artist vs Terrorist - do your art vs blow up the art.
Artist horizontal approach -to manipulate the world around us but to not change us, to keep us how we are, to find freedom and to solve the problems in the fiction, in the spectacle, in the art bubble and keep us and the bigger context how they are. There is not a genuine wider interest or critical point of view, just an unaware following of the line that the corporate-state cultural policy prescribes. To be in harmony with something profoundly sick, to be well adjusted in a pathological context is problematic. So yes the conflict is necessary, to resist, to oppose, to criticise. Harmonic art function as a sedative art rising problems is associated with conflictual intentions... So is preferable to be a terrorist in a sick environment - to terrorize the norms, the normality.
Fiction vs Reality
The power has the monopole of true. If another true enter the stage is received as aggression. So the only space left is the fiction. Do good work, fictionalise more, extend the fiction until becomes inoffensive. Everything to be consumed in representation. This is how the sedative art operates. This is how the spectacle is produced. That's why we should move on towards the postspectacle.

The evolution paradigm, is more and more justifiable, the things are changing quicker and quicker so you can come to say: "your attitudes and values are not questioned, are not updated they come from the past and are inadequate and irrelevant to the present"
Control vs Unknown - Control is a mean of applying old solution for new situations, to try to push or oppress the new in order to can control, to can predict the results. Unknown is to work all the time with a very clear possibility to "fail". Unknown is about allowing all the time the possibility that something unpleasant to occur.
